This sculpture was inspired by the drama of life and death in the Pamplona Bull Ring. Man pitting his skill against beast. The title comes from the book of the same name by Ernest Hemingway - an aficionado of the blood sport. There are other deeper meanings hidden behind the cape. It could also represent male virility in interplay with the female cape.
